Zalgo, Cursed, and Corrupted Text Explained
Glitch text - often called zalgo text or cursed text - looks like your words are melting, haunted, or breaking through the screen. The effect comes from Unicode combining diacritical marks: small accents designed to stack on top of letters. Normally a letter carries one or two accents; zalgo text stacks dozens, so the marks spill above and below the line and create the iconic corrupted look.
Perfect for Discord, TikTok, and Gaming
Because the output is plain Unicode, you can paste glitch text almost anywhere: Discord usernames and messages, TikTok captions and comments, Instagram bios, Twitch chat, and game lobbies. It is a favorite for horror-themed usernames, Halloween posts, creepypasta stories, and standing out in crowded comment sections.
Control the Corruption
Unlike most zalgo generators, this tool gives you a full intensity slider plus directional presets - marks rising above the text, sinking below it, or slicing through the middle. Every click of Regenerate produces a fresh random pattern, so no two glitches are ever identical.
